Carlotta Colkin
Director Global Comms and Content, TAG London

Carlotta is a lively half-Italian, half-English marketeer who, after five years at Ferrero UK, joined Pernod Ricard UK to work with the Martell brand. Today, she is piloting marketing campaigns for our gin brands Beefeater, Malfy and Plymouth.
Can you tell us about an exciting project you have worked on recently?
We recently launched the Malfy x Missoni campaign, our brand’s first global collaboration, merging our super premium gin with Missoni’s design aesthetic to celebrate the essence of Italian culture and lifestyle. We were inspired by the golden hour feeling and those endless moments with friends that you wish would never end. The partnership was a true match made in heaven, and aligned with our brand’s purpose of helping our audience to ‘live la dolce vita’.”
What has been your proudest moment working at Pernod Ricard?
One that sticks out is working alongside Toni Ingram (Director Strategy, Portfolio & Innovation Gins) on the Malfy acquisition. We worked tirelessly throughout covid times (with many outside meetings with bottles on windowsills for social distancing) to bring the brand into the Pernod Ricard family, integrating it into our global operations, building its brand identity and escapism-inducing brand world. Seeing it skyrocket to become the number 5 super premium gin brand globally in 2023 is a true pinch-me moment.

I was told you did four years of volunteering for the Royal Air Tattoo. How did this come about?
My grandfather was in the Royal Air Force and my father has been a true plane fanatic ever since. That passion was passed on to me when I was little and whilst I was in my last years of school I was given the opportunity to volunteer at the Royal International Air Tattoo as part of their Media team. It supports the Royal Air Force Charitable Trust, which supports families of the Air Force, promotes engineering, and awards grants for flying scholarships to young people with fewer opportunities, among many other things. This was the closest I was ever going to get to being a Top Gun pilot.

Do you have a favourite cocktail?
My favourite is a classic, Negroni. It perfectly balances bitterness, sweetness and herbal complexity. And importantly, a key ingredient is one of my favourites: gin. It’s a refreshing yet rich cocktail, delivering a very satisfying flavour experience in a simple, colourful and elegant package.
